Maggie Bean and Friends was originally published in the 2010 Petite Purls online magazine, which is no longer being published. The pattern is quite extensive and consists of multi-media crafting. In addition the pattern incorporates recycling/repurposing in the doll construction.

The basic dolls are knit in the round from repurposed worsted weight yarn. Clothing and accessories are constructed from felted thrift store sweaters for the crafter who enjoys repurposing found items.

Techniques and tips are described and displayed in photo tutorials, including facial embroidery and hair application, to name a few.
