This chunky, square-shaped afghan evolved from the royal color palette that I selected for its intended recipients. The afghan is knit by alternating sections of garter stitch with sections of stockinette stitch and is finished off with four extra-thick tassels at each corner. Throughout the pattern two strands of yarn are held together. After finishing the afghan I observed that it looked a lot like a magic carpet. Voila, it’s a Magic Carpet Afghan!

Afghan measures approximately 30” by 35” after blocking.
