About the project
The Magic Moon Design includes 4 designs: New Moon, Waxing Moon, Full Moon and Waning Moon. The design is inspired by the moon’s energy and metaphorical meaning in relation to cyclical thinking, where everything is born, grows up, blossoms, throws its seeds and dies to be resurrected as new life.

The design is made so that it can function both as a wall hanger and a bag. The bag is put together in a way that emphasizes the endless cycle of the moon, where the different phases are constantly replaced by the next. The pattern includes instructions for both wall hanger and bag.

The Magic Moon Design is made in interlocking crochet, a technique that consists of two crochet parts in different colors which are interlinked and thereby they form a relief picture.

The patterns are for right handed crochet.

Dimensions
Dimensions depend on your crochet gauge as well as the yarn and crochet hook you use.

If you crochet with the yarn and crochet hook recommended, the dimensions are:

WALL HANGER
The four parts each measure approx. 15.5 x 48 cm.
The total wall hanger measures approx. 72.5 x 48 cm.

BAG
The height of the bag is approx. 35 cm. (from the top tip without the straps to the ‘flat bottom’).
The bottom of the bag measures approx. 23x23 cm.
The four sides each measure approx. 15.5 x 48 cm.
The straps are approx. 40 cm long.

Windows
Interlocking crochet is also measured in windows. Each of the four parts measures 20x60 windows.

Skill level: Advanced
You need some basic crochet skills to become familiar with the technique. Diagonals ads some complexity to the basics in interlocking crochet.

Learn the technique.
If the technique is new to you or you need to refresh it, I recommend that you start by making a little training pattern (12x12 window). This will take you through all stitches and prepare you for the Magic Moon Design patterns. A ‘Technique Class’ with the training pattern is included.
