Magic the Gathering Black Mana (Swamp) Potholder

This is a quick, easy potholder that works up from a chart. I recommend making two and stitching them together to make a nice thick potholder that will withstand lava. Or a really hot baking tray. Whichever. ;)
I made two and stitched them together on a Saturday night. Oh, and for full disclosure: I used acrylic yarn. I have had potholders made with acrylic yarn for the last eight years, and I’ve never had them melt down or explode or topple the global economy. If you feel more comfortable using natural fibers, however, do it. That’s certainly what everyone recommends!
The chart is available for download at the bottom of the linked blog post.
