Magical Potion Vial - plush or dice bag
I ONLY sell patterns on Etsy and Ravelry. If you see any of my patterns anywhere else then they are stolen. My patterns are now all watermarked thanks to thieves. Thank you for supporting the real designer!
This potion vial makes a great accessory for renaissance and fantasy faires, conventions, LARP events, or any time you need a health boost! It can also be made into a bag for dice or small trinkets. When made with medium weight yarn, my potion vials come out to approximately 6.5” tall by 3.5” wide but the size will vary based on yarn, your tension, and how full you stuff it.
This is an advanced beginner level pattern, written in US terms. It is a 21 page pattern with lots of pictures to help you along the way and it has been tested by ten amazing testers.
Supplies:
-Medium weight yarn is used throughout this pattern but you can use different weight yarn for different sized potion vials. You’ll need a potion color, bottle color, cork color, and rope color. If making a bag it will hold it’s shape best with a stiff yarn or two strands held together. The ties also work best in a cotton/sturdy yarn.
-3.5mm hook or hook size compatible to your yarn size. I personally use 2.5mm with fine weight yarn, 3.5mm with medium, 4.5mm-5mm with bulky, and 6.5mm-7mm for super bulky.
-Stuffing material (I use a mix of yarn scraps and fiberfill)
-Tapestry needle
-Stitch markers
-Pins (to hold rope in place when tacking down)
-Optional: cord, string, etc to use as a tie. The pattern also includes instructions for crocheted ties if you’d prefer to make them.
