Welcome to Magnolia, the neighborhood of Seattle that I named the Magnolia Mittens and the pattern that inspired the Magnolia Mittens, the Magnolia Socks, after! Magnolia was named completely by accident, with the US Coast Survey of 1856 thinking the Madrona trees that covered the area were actually Magnolia trees. Discovery Park is a key feature of the neighborhood. Discovery Park is Seattle’s largest park and features West Point Lighthouse which was built in 1881 and is the oldest lighthouse in Washington State!

I’d love to see your completed mittens! Please use #MagnoliaMittens when posting your work on instagram. You can also tag me @gooseandghostknits or email me with questions at ashleygraceart@gmail.com
