Magnolia Tablecloth
(NOTE: the finished measurements in the 1998 edition are incorrect. If 36 individual squares are made to the 6-inch size, adding the 3-inch border will make the tablecloth 42-inches, not 39-inches.)
39 in square (including chevron border). Each motif measures 6 in square and the border is 3 in deep.
MATERIALS
16 oz/450g white bedspread-weight cotton thread No 10 -- to make the tablecloth shown on page 95, which is composed of 36 motifs, and its border (4 oz/100g will yield at least 9 motifs), No 7/1.50mm crochet hook, a box of small safety pins.
WORKING NOTES
The final size of the work depends on the number of motifs. Multiply the size of a single motif, adding the width of the broder, to decide how many you will need to produce the tablecoth or bedspread of your choice.
