Pattern Update: If you downloaded pattern before 9/29/15, please download again. While knitting the hat, I made MAJOR changes to the pattern. Thanks!

Three years ago my nephew Daniel (just turned 14) was obsessed with the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan. I made him a Percy Jackson hat from a pattern I found on Ravelry. He has NOT stopped wearing it and it’s looking pretty shabby. My sister thinks the only way he will stop is if it “disappears.” Unfortunately, she is also pretty sure he’d just beg me for another one. I came up with a better solution…you know, based on replacement behavior as discipline…if you don’t want him to wear the hat, make him a new one! (Kinda like asking the dog to sit for a treat in the living room while people come in so the dog doesn’t jump on them.)

Anyway, I created myself a pattern to make Daniel a NEW hat -- based on the new series coming out from Rick Riordan. The first book is Magnus and the Sword of Summer and Daniel has already told me all about it and how it’s about the Norse gods, etc.

This pattern is definitely more than a recipe, but it will require some customization choices, etc. I have put notes regarding such in the pattern itself.
