This pattern was inspired by two events. My daughter’s small kid time friend is back visiting in Hawaii but she will be returning to the cold of a Mainland winter for the birth of her first child. In the Panoptican blog Franklin Habit had posted a stitch pattern from a 19th century baby sweater. Out of curiosity I tried the pattern, I like the spring of the fabric and decided to use the stitch pattern in the hat for the Mainland baby.

Pattern is for newborn to six months, babies vary.
Uses approximately half of skein.
