Not just for birthdays, Nicholette Hoyer’s party crowns are the perfect dress-up headwear for royal princes and princesses. They’re elegant, soft, and glittery, and they fit as comfortably as a knitted headband. Embellish the points with sequins, buttons, embroidery, feathers, or whatever your little ones can imagine.

Finished Size: 15 (16, 17)“ head circumference.

Yarn: Rowan Yarns Classic Cashsoft DK (57% merino, 33% microfiber, 10% cashmere; 142 yd [130 m]/50 g): Girl’s crown: #SH510 clementine (rust), 1 ball. Boy’s crown: #SH508 ballad blue (blue), 1 ball. Yarn distributed by Westminster Fibers.

Yarn Weight: #3 - Light

Needles: Size 4 (3.5 mm): set of 5 double-pointed (dpn); Size 3 (3.25 mm): 16” circular (cir). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Size E/4 (3.5 mm) crochet hook; markers (m); tapestry needle; sewing needle and matching thread; sequins, buttons, or beads for embellishment (sequins shown are Embossed Squares and Opaque Petite Flowers, available from www.ccartwright.com).
