Knit out of scrumptious sport weight yarn or wonderful worsted weight yarn, this slouchy hat features two different eyelet motifs that are fun to knit and even more fun to wear.

Materials:
Yarn:
Unwind Yarn Company Expedition Sport, 200 yards, Sepia colorway.
Unwind Yarn Company Journey Sock (held double), 274 yards, Bonnie Wee Thing colorway.

Needles & Notions:
Size US 4 and size US 6 16” circular needles.
Size US 6 double point needles for decreases.
4 stitch markers.
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends.

Gauge:
10 stitches over 2 inches in garter stitch on size US 4 needles for both

Finished measurements:
Sport weight (longer) version: 9 ½ inches long, fits comfortably on a 20-22 inch head.
Worsted weight (shorter) version: 8 ½ inches long, fits comfortable on a 20-21 inch head.

Notes:
I knit the brim flat and have written directions as such. If you would prefer to knit the brim in the round, join before knitting the first round and make sure to change even rows to purl stitches to get the garter stitch effect.

This pattern was originally knit with sport weight yarn in mind. I played around with the stitch count and have also included a worsted weight version. The sample in worsted weight was knit with fingering weight yarn held double, which gives me a similar gauge to knitting with worsted.

I also worked on repeats to have a more fitted and a more slouchy version of the hat. Notes are made for this in the pattern.
