This ponco is designed using simple single crochet in the back loop and shaped by using shortrows. Suitable for a beginner. It can be made larger by doing more repeats as explained in the pattern. The dimensions as written in gauge are:

Height – 28 inches
Circumference at widest point - bottom – 84 inches
Circumference at narrowest point – neck – 26 inches

Mandala makes this interesting with the long color changes, but it would look equally beautiful in a solid.
