The Make Your Own Colorway Cowl was originally published in 2012, but now we’ve updated it and added a LOT! It now includes instructions for 4 different gauges, can be made as a single wrap cowl or a double wrap cowl and either a moebius or simple circular cowl! It is a fantastic stash buster - throw anything that suits you together or similar gauge and see amazing new colorways take shape!

The Make Your Own Colorway Cowl is the perfect quick project to play with colors and use up leftover and orphan balls of yarn in your stash. Don’t be afraid to just use another ball if you run out of one color before the cowl is done – it will only add to the fun. Even the gauge of yarns don’t have to be exact. If you have a heavy worsted and a light worsted – they’ll be fine together. A sport and a fingering – go for it! You’ll need closer to 80 grams of each with the bulkier yarn and the double wrap cowl, but as the yarn gets thinner, you’ll be able to get by with closer to 50. And half that if you are only making a single wrap cowl. There are also instructions to make it with or without the moebius twist if you are getting stressed by the moebius CO. Just make sure you use shorter circulars (32” for double wrap or 24” for single wrap) if you aren’t going to make it a moebius. It is a great cowl either way!
