This hip-length pullover is designed to layer with the pieces you reach for daily. The one that makes you feel like yourself. Relaxed wear, an impeccable fit, and the kind of bespoke details that pull an outfit together.
This #sizeinclusive sweater features an A-line silhouette, optional bust shaping, and has more ease in the front than the back. An homage to quilt jackets, you’ll find a playful running stitch embellishment and an enclosed trim, creating a deeply heirloom piece.

CONSTRUCTION
Maker’s Tunic is worked bottom-up in pieces and seamed. It has a set-in sleeve that is dropped over the shoulder. Stitches are picked up and worked for the collar, hem, and cuffs. Optional running stitch in lightweight yarn is used to embellish the body and sleeves.

Maker’s Tunic is designed for bodies with breasts and is 0 (1, 0.5, 1, 1.25) (1.5, 1.25, 2.5) (2.75, 2.5, 3.25, 3.75) inch(es) / 0 (2.5, 1, 2.5, 3.5) (3.5, 4, 5.5) (7, 5.5, 8, 9.5) cm wider in the front than the back.

YOUR BEST FIT
Choose the size closest to your actual upper chest measurement. Upper chest is measured above the full bust, at an angle close to diagonal beneath the underarms, and straight across the back. For more information on choosing a size using your upper chest measurement, visit this blog post.

Maker’s Tunic is designed to fit with approximately 4 inches / 10 cm of positive ease at the fullest part of your bust.
If, after choosing a size based on upper chest, you need additional room for at the full bust, work the optional short row shaping. This will give you the best fit in the shoulders and armholes, while still making room for your chest. Short rows add length to the front only of the garment, so that the hem does not rise in the front.
In the photos, I’m wearing size 5, Cup 1, with 3.5 inches / 9 cm of positive ease at the full bust and 2.25” / 5.5 cm of positive ease at the shoulder seam. My upper chest is 41 inches / 102.5 cm.
YARN
MAIN COLOR
100% Rambouillet wool; 190 yds / 173 m per 100 g skein. This is a squishy, bouncy worsted weight wool with fantastic stitch definition and a slightly thick and thin quality. It knits warm, low-drape fabric with moderate density.
910 (985, 1090, 1170, 1250) (1335, 1420, 1505) (1590, 1710, 1765, 1850) yds / 835 (900, 995, 1070, 1145) (1220, 1300, 1375) (1455, 1565, 1610, 1690) m; 5 (6, 6, 7, 7) (7, 8, 8) (9, 9, 10, 10) skeins.
For Cup 1, add 20 (25, 25, 30, 30) (35, 35, 40) (40, 45, 45, 50) yds / 20 (25, 25, 25, 30) (30, 35, 35) (35, 40, 40, 45) m.
For Cup 2, add 45 (50, 55, 60, 65) (70, 70, 75) (80, 85, 90, 95) yds / 40 (45, 50, 55, 60) (60, 65, 70) (75, 80, 85, 90) m.

CONTRASTING COLOR
For the optional running stitch embellishment, you will need 11 yds / 10 m fingering weight yarn in a contrasting color. Sample shown in Ritual Dyes Maven in colorway Dune. This is a slubby, 2 ply 100% Rambouillet yarn.
GAUGE
17 sts and 24 rows over 4 inches/ 10 cm in Quilt Patt (page 4) with size A needles.
NEEDLES
All garment sizes use all needle sizes:
Size A: US size 8 / 5 mm needle, or as needed to obtain gauge, for working the body - straight or circular suitable.
Size B: US size 6 / 4 mm needle, or two US sizes smaller than size A, for working trim in the round.
For the hem, choose a circular needle at least 32 (32, 40, 40, 40) (47, 47, 47) (60, 60, 60, 60) inches / 80 (80, 100, 100, 100) (120, 120, 120) (150, 150, 150, 150) cm long.
For the collar, choose a needle that is 16 (16, 16, 16, 16) (16, 16, 24) (24, 24, 24, 24) inches / 40 (40, 40, 40, 40) (40, 40, 60) (60, 60, 60, 60) cm long, or much longer if you prefer magic loop.
For the cuffs, use double-pointed needles or long circulars if you prefer magic loop.
NOTIONS
- Stitch markers (7 removable, 1 unique. Additional markers may be useful as you learn the stitch pattern and decrease/increase in pattern)
