I started knitting this cowl without any real direction in mind - I just knew I wanted long, with a little lace. And I only had one skein of this precious yarn.
As I knit, the pattern emerged, reminding me of track from a snowmobile or ATV and Making Tracks was born.
The pattern is simple, just a touch of garter, a little stockinette, and simple lace that’s easy enough, even for beginners.
The yarn I used is Wandering Cat Yarns Aristocat - a DK blend or merino, alpaca and silk. It’s soft, and luscious, a perfect to wrap around your neck when the mercury drops.
So whether you’re making your own tracks on the snowmobile trails, or just enjoying winter’s splendor, you’ll always be toasty warm.
