The Maklik Shawl is named after the Afrikaans word for easy. In keeping with the South African theme the shawl is made with South African indie-dyed yarn called Eco-fusion. Eco-fusion is a 50% cotton, 50% bamboo yarn with amazing drape and that is lovely a cool to wear.

The Maklik Shawl is a triangle shawl that is designed to be easy to knit for someone with some experience with knitting but perhaps new to shawl or basic lace knitting. There are links in the pattern for all the stitches done in the pattern so that a beginner can use the pattern to learn new techniques. The shawl is designed using Eco-fusion (cotton/bamboo blend), but any weight yarn and any type of yarn can be used. It is easy to customise this shawl for those looking for a bit of a challenge.
