Since Circe, the Atomic Cat, has a slipper design named in his honor, it is only right that his adopted sister, Mala should have her own slipper design, too!

The cuff and instep are worked with a single strand of yarn (in 2 contrasting colors) using smaller needles, while the Stockinette stitch sides and twisted-rib bottom of the slipper are worked with 2 strands with larger needles. The slipper is closed at the heel using Kitchener Stitch, and the cuff is folded down and stitched to the inside.

The pattern uses a variety of techniques, and you’ll enjoy making these cozy cat motif slippers!

There are 2 charts provided for each size, with 2 cat poses. There is no difference in the toe shaping - just the cat motifs and surrounding stars are different. Make one of each cat pose or make both cat poses the same!

Specified yarn is Knit Picks’ Wool Woolen Cotton, a wonderfully soft yet durable yarn, available in a variety of colors and in a Bare format.

  • You’ll need 1 hank of both MC and CC for the size Small, and 2 hanks of the main (darker) color and 1 hank of the contrast (lighter) color for the Medium and Large sizes.
