Malcolm the Mallard
Make a splash down at the pond with your very own dashing duck! Knitted flat in simple stocking stitch, Malcolm the Mallard measures 18cm/7in from chest to tail and is approximately 22cm/8¾in when seated. As only small quantities of yarn are needed, the only big bill you’ll be faced with is the one on your paddling pal. What’re you waiting for? It’s time to get quacking!
Materials
50g/1¾oz/125m/137yds DK yarn in each of the following: chocolate brown, light brown, grey
Oddments of green, white, orange, yellow, black and royal blue DK yarn
A pair of 12mm sew on googly eyes (available from https://plushaddict.co.uk/haberdashery/craft-accessories/...)
Scrap yarn to use as stitch markers
Tape measure
Toy stuffing
A tapestry needle and large-headed pins for sewing up
A sewing needle and strong thread (for attaching the eyes)
All the pieces are knitted flat on straight needles and seamed afterwards so it’s a good idea to seam and stuff the pieces as you go along.

The boring bit…
This pattern is intended for personal use so it’s fine to print it out for personal use but please don’t sell it, share it on the internet or make multiple copies. What you can sell (more money for yarn – YAY!) is finished items made from this pattern so long as you’ve made them yourself and it’s not on a commercial basis. Please remember to credit me as the designer!
And finally…
I’d love to see your finished mallard so please share him on Instagram, Facebook and here on Ravelry!
