Please note that the gauge is given for horizontal garter ribbing, not stockinette!

This pretty, reversible, hooded poncho is designed specifically for Bulky weight boucle yarn, with changes for Super Bulky weight boucle yarn in (brackets). It is constructed top-down, in the round for most of the main body of the poncho, in lovely, spongy horizontal garter ribbing.

The ruffle is worked from side to side in garter stitch, working directly onto the sts of the final row. An optional hood is worked off of either a provisional CO top edge, or picked up sts as an afterthought.

If you omit the hood, you can wear the poncho two ways, with the points either in front/back or over your arms.

This is a fairly easy pattern, with increases done by the method of your choice (M1, YO, Kfb, etc.). The pattern is repetitive, but not enough to be boring.
