Make your own Manatee! The sea cow uses its flippers to “walk” along the ocean floor, vacuuming up plants with their prehensile lips. Slow and curious, manatees are frequently injured by boat propellers. Human development and red tides (huge algal blooms) also seriously affect manatee populations.

Pattern includes instructions to make your own Manatee. The 23 page pattern includes detailed step-by-step photos and clear written instructions to make an amigurumi-style Manatee. PLUS there is a 6 page printer-friendly TEXT ONLY version at the end of the pattern. This pattern has been fully tested by multiple testers. Includes yarn amounts and hook sizes to make a Manatee using Worsted weight yarn.

Recommended for INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCE SKILL LEVEL. This pattern uses basic crochet stitches and more complex stitches (detailed in the pattern glossary).

A finished Manatee made using Worsted Weight yarn is approximately 14.5” long and 5” wide across the body.

To make a Manatee using Worsted weight yarn you will need:
135 yds Main Color yarn
G (4/4.25mm) crochet hook (or preferred amigurumi hook)
10mm safety eyes
Poly-fil or other stuffing
Darning needle
