This pattern is written in US crochet terms.
There is no gauge as this bag is not dependent on it.

The bottom forms a mandala similar to my mandala crochet top (also found in my store) and then has a mesh design that happens until you get to the top. This bag is worked bottom up and mostly in the round until you get to the strap which is continued and made before fastening off.

You need:
Bernat Home Maker dec or a similar yarn 1 skein
8 mm hook
Scissors
yarn needle for weaving in ends
