This pattern makes a crocheted container that is insulated and microwaveable. It is very useful as a tortilla server for the dining table, as it will keep the tortillas nicely warm. Placing a piece of foil or a plate in the bottom of the cozy will protect it from crumbs or oils. The Cozy is very useful for heating items in the microwave, which is safe as the entire cozy is made of 100% cotton, including the insulation! The instructions are for the design shown. Any dense mandala-type pattern can be used, but those using the overlay technique are best as they are firm and thick, thus most useful for insulation and construction.

Once you’ve made one of these cozies, the pattern is easily adaptable for different weights of yarn, and can be made in different sizes!
