Mandrágora es un chal con forma de medio círculo (también llamado medio pi) decorado con una preciosa textura de puntos retorcidos cruzados formando un dibujo muy original. Acaba en una serie de picos que surgen de los mismos cruces.

Mandrágora is a shawl in the shape of a half circle (also called half pi) decorated with a beautiful texture of twisted stitches crossed to form a very original pattern. It ends in a series of peaks that emerge from the same cables.
To knit this shawl I used 800 meters of fingering wool and it measures 170 x 73 cm.

Cuando terminé el canesú del Suéter Mandrágora, me vino a la cabeza que era una pena que esas trenzas en las que acaban los relieves no acabaran en punta, pero ¿cómo podía hacer esto en un suéter?

La solución, por supuesto, estaba en utilizar el precioso relieve del suéter, tejido en redondo, y adaptarlo para un chal tejido en plano. La forma adecuada para este motivo resultó ser el medio círculo, y así nació la idea de hacer un chal de medio pi.

When I finished the yoke of the Mandrágora Sweater, it occurred to me that it was a pity that those cables that the reliefs end in didn’t end in a point, but how could I do that on a sweater?

The solution, of course, was to use the sweater’s lovely relief, knitted in the round, and adapt it for a flat-knit shawl. The perfect shape for this motif turned out to be the half-circle, and so the idea of making a half-pi shawl was born.
