Do you have thick hair, long hair, or just don’t want to mess with your hair being shoved into your hat? Well I have the answer for you. After trying several patterns for my shop with ponytail holes to small for my hair I created this hat that will give you a bun size hole or ponytail hole on the top of your head. It will allow you to put the hat on without messing up your hair.

The hat will lay flat on your head with out being tight on your head. So if you make it longer than the pattern you can wear your ponytail farther back on your head.

You really do use all three size of needles because by using the size 8 needles on the top of the head it will keep the top ribbing from being too stretched out over time. Please check your gauge before you get rolling with this hat. Try the hat on as you go. If your head it a bit smaller than mine you may be able to stop a bit sooner. It is really personal choice.

This project is great for the last minute gift giving season. Quick enough to make more than one.
