Mango Mania
This is a very quick and easy pattern for a sweet, high-fiber mango. The project is beginner-friendly and takes about an hour to complete. Basic knitting technique, with increases, decreases, and sewing up is required. The pattern is written for knitting flat, but can easily convert to knitting in the round. The finished fruit measures 4.5”- 5” in length.
NOTIONS:
Pair US 6 / 4.00 mm knitting needles
Sewing needle
MATERIALS:
5g Yellow Heavy Worsted or Aran Wt. Yarn
Scrap amt. Brown yarn for stem (optional)
Poly-fill
GAUGE:
Gauge is not important for this project so long as the yarn is heavier than recommended for the size of your chosen needles. For a bigger version use US 7 or 8 (4.5mm or 5.0mm) needles and bulky weight yarn.
SKILLS:
Basic knitting technique, with simple increases, decreases, and seaming.
The pattern can be easily converted for round knitting. After working the first three rows flat, split stitches evenly amongst 4 DPNs, and place marker to identify the start of each round. Knit all even rows instead of purling.
