Manisses Hues translates to “Block Island colors.” Manisses is the Narragansett Indian name for Block Island. This lined hat is warm against the sea breeze and has a simple “Blocks of Island” colored pattern. The hat is worked in the round. This pattern works well with two contrasting colors, a solid and variegated yarn, two solid colors or a solid using mini skeins or leftover stash yarns. I picked colors inspired by the island’s hues.
