This is the first in what I hope to be a series of free scarf patterns with a more masculine lean -- not to say that they wouldn’t be great for anyone ;)

There’s nothing sparklingly innovative in these patterns -- many are just slight adaptations from the stitch dictionaries where I found 77 possible candidates -- stitch patterns that would not be deemed too frilly, girly, flamboyant, froufrou or totally chichi -- but rather patterns that say “bold”, “dignified”, “stately” “valiant yet verile” with maybe a little “hunk” thrown in.

These patterns will all be published on my Shifting Stitches blog.

This stitch pattern is actually #32 on my list, but it whined so it got to go first -- what can I say??

Confession: I only knit the swatches not the entire scarf for these patterns, so you won’t ever see an entire scarf on the blog but my swatches are big enough that you’ll be able to see what the scarf will be like.
