About the Pattern:
The Manning Park Hat has been resized so that you can make hats for all the kids you know: newborns, babies, toddlers, young kids and even older kids. Just like the adult version, the Manning Park Hat for kids has a turned picot hem to keep little ears warm, and a slight slouch.

Yarn:
Malabrigo Rios: worsted weight; 100% superwash merino wool;100 g; 210 yards (192 metres). Madelinetosh Tosh Vintage: worsted weight, 100% merino wool,100 g, 210 yards (192 metres). Yarns of Rhichard Devrieze Fynn: worsted weight; 100% superwash merino wool, 84 g (2.96 oz), 175 yards (162 m).

XS size shown in Malabrigo Rios Solis (MC) and Natural (CC); and S size shown in Rhichard Devrieze Fynn in Opal (MC) and Malabrigo Rios Natural (CC).

Yardage:
Approximately 60 (65, 75, 85, 95) yds / 55 (60, 65, 70, 75) m EACH of main colour and contrast colour. Pompom requires additional yarn (approx. 10 - 15 g).

Sizing:
XXS (XS, S, M, L) to fit head circumference 14” (15 1/2”, 17”, 18 1/2”, 20”). Make sure to measure because kids’ heads come in all shapes and sizes. My son’s head was gigantic when he was a baby! If in doubt, go up a size.

Skill Level:
This pattern is suitable for an advanced beginner or intermediate knitter who is familiar with stranded colourwork, provisional cast-on; turned picot hem; and basic increases and decreases.

Pattern Notes:
This hat is knit from the bottom-up, in-the-round. Stranded colourwork pattern is charted. Size can be increased / decreased by adding / eliminated four stitches. More slouch can be added to crown by adding more rounds in CC.
