Growing up, I was touched by the novels of Marcel Pagnol, “Jean de Fleurette” and “Manon des Sources” and the movies that went along with it.
Emanuelle Béart played the role of Manon. Although she played the role of a poor shepherdess. She wore rather plain clothes and a woolen shawl but she was gorgeous. I designed this shawl imagining what she would wear that could equal her beauty. I chose the yarn based on its gorgeous luxury.
This shawl pattern is being tested by a dear friend who is also named Manon. Since I met her in the fall, she has been a source of joy, compassion and friendship. So, this shawl is also named for her.
