There are two patterns here, one for a slipover vest, and one for a waistcoat vest.

Slipover yarn quantities:
King Cole Big Value: 33,4,4 100g balls
King Cole Merino 4-ply: 56,7,8 50g balls (or 1 x 500g cone)

Waistcoat yarn quantities:
King Cole Big Value: 33,4,4 100g balls
King Cole Merino 4-ply: 67,8,8 50g balls (or 1 x 500g cone)
