Lions are powerful predators of the African plains. Manticores are terrifying, fierce mythical creatures, often portrayed as having the body of a lion, the wings of a bat, and a scorpion tail. Luckily, this pattern turns both into cute, cuddly plush toys!

With this pattern you can make your own lion (with a regular lion tail) or manticore (with wings and a scorpion tail)!

Materials needed:
• Size G crochet hook (4 mm)
• Worsted weight yarn in gold, cream, orange, and red (for manticore only)
• Fiberfill or stuffing
• Needle with a large eye
• 15 mm plastic safety eyes
• Black sewing thread & needle
• White felt & glue (optional, for teeth)

Finished product measures about 10” tall and 8” across.

This pattern is at an intermediate level. Previous amigurumi experience is recommended. You need to know how to single crochet in the round, increase, decrease, slip stitch, double crochet, half-double crochet, and change color.
