YARN
you will need 550-800 gr/19.5-28 oz or 1,200-1,800 m/1,300-2,000 yds of DK-weight yarn
in 4 different colors. See the yardage per color required for your size in the table below.
The sample was knit in KPC Glencoul DK (70% merino, 30% cotton), 116 m/127 yds per 50 g/1.8oz ball in colorways Saffron, Autumn Leaf, Moss, Rural (listed from top to bottom)
NEEDLES
- 3.5 mm/US 4 for the ribbing and 4 mm/US 6 for the main body & sleeves on 60-100 cm/24-40” cable (or shorter for the sleeves if you don’t like using magic loop).
The GAUGE is 20 stitches by 28 rows per 1010cm (44”) square on larger needles after blocking.
Construction
The sweater is knit top-down in the round without any seams.
Raglan lines are placed in the center front/ back and sides, and then continued into the body and sleeves to create the chevrons patterning. The corners are ‘’filled in“ using (German) short-row shaping.The pattern also feature simple texture created by purl stitches, which can be easily omitted if you prefer plain stockinette.
