ENGLISH
The Mar Shawl is a crescent shawl knitted top down. It has 4 stitches increased on each odd row by making a 2yo at the beginning and at the end.
It combines Stockinette stitch, which represents the calm sea, with lace simulating the waves of the sea and ends with a combination of Yarn Over Bind Off and Picot Bind Off that evoke the splashes of the sea when they hit the rocks.
In the pattern you will find 2 different measures knitted with 1 or 2 skeins of fingering weight yarn, respectively.
It is an advanced beginner level pattern ideal for knitting while talking with friends or watching television as it is very easy to memorize.

SIZES
Two sizes. Finished measurements (aprox.). Small 64,57” (164cm) long and 15,75” (40cm) wide . Large 100,79” (256cm) and 25,20” (64cm) wide.

MATERIALS
Yarn: 1 skein for the small size and 2 skeins for the large size. MERINO SINGLES by Feliz y Punto (100% Merino superwash 400yds 366m / 100g). The sample was made using color COLOBRI.

Needles: US8/5mm (or the needle size you need to obtain gauge) with a 32”(80cm) cable. And US10 (6mm) to bind off.
Other: Stitch marker, tapestry needle, blocking pins or wires.

ESPAÑOL
El Mar Shawl es un chal semicircular creciente que se teje de arriba a abajo. Aumenta 4 puntos en cada pasada impar haciendo una doble lazada al principio y otra al final.
Combina punto jersey, que representa el mar en calma, con un calado simulando las olas del mar y termina con una combinación de un cierre con lazadas y un cierre con picos que evocan las salpicaduras del mar al chocar con las rocas.
En el patrón encontrarás 2 medidas distintas tejidas con 1 o 2 madejas de lana grosor fingering, respectivamente.
Es un patrón de nivel principiante avanzado ideal para tejer mientras hablas con amig@s o miras la televisión ya que es muy fácil de memorizar.

TAMAÑO:
Dos tamaños. Medidas terminado (aprox.): pequeño 164cm de largo y 40cm de ancho y grande 256cm de largo y 64cm de ancho.

MATERIALES:
Lana: 1 madeja para tamaño pequeño y 2 madejas para el tamaño grande de MERINO SINGLES de Feliz y Punto (100% Merino; 366m/100g). El sampler está tejido con el color COLIBRÍ.
Agujas: 5mm (o el tamaño necesario para obtener la tensión) circulares con cable de 80cm y agujas de 6mm para el cierre.
Otros: 1 marcador, aguja lanera, bases para bloquear y alfileres.
