The Marauding Hat features simple fair isle colourwork inspired by nature. It’s designed for a comfortable and accommodating fit, and should fit an adult hat up to 24 inches in circumference.

The pattern calls for West Yorkshire Spinners Aire Valley DK in 2 colours (one ball of each colour). A test knit was successfully completed using Stylecraft Special DK and this yarn worked well as a substitution.

Other materials required include: a locking stitch marker to denote the beginning of the round, although you may find this is optional; a yarn needle for weaving in ends; scissors
