The Marble Cowl is a simplistically fun pattern designed to showcase and blend two yarns together to create a super warm and cozy cowl. This pattern is worked holding two strands of worsted weight yarn together to create the “marble” effect, making it a great place to get adventurous and play with colors and texture. You really can choose any worsted weight yarns and end up with something beautiful and incredibly unique.

This is designed as an adult sized pattern, and gauge is not terribly important here!

You will be choosing two skeins of worsted yarn and holding them together throughout your project.

Here are some of my suggested pairings:

  • solid/solid
  • solid/ombre or striping color
  • tweed/ombre

Some of the yarns I have used and combined together:

  • Loops & Threads Impeccable (solid or tweed)
  • Red Heart Unforgettable
  • Caron Simply Soft
  • Lion Brand Homespun (yes this is a bulky weight yarn, but it worked wonderfully! There is so much wiggle room in this pattern.)

The combinations are endless! Pick up two of your favorite skeins from your local craft store, or showcase some incredible colorways from your favorite hand dyer.
Any fiber content will work, however the softer the better - and avoid stiff acrylics. You want your cowl to be pliable and soft.
