Marchbank Cowl
The magic of the holidays is a distant memory, the days are short, and snow coats the ground. Winter proper has set in. Even on the days when the sun comes out in all its brilliance, the wind is bitter and the air frigid. Months of cold stretch before us, and we seek warmth and comfort. It is a time for quick, simple knits in warm, bulky yarns, like a cozy cowl to keep the wind away.
Marchbank cowl is knit in the round from the bottom up in a textured pattern of alternating seed stitch and twisted stockinette stitch. The pattern is perfect for bringing out the beauty of your favourite speckled or variegated colourways, or work it in a solid or tonal yarn to show off the texture. Choose from two sizes – the small is a snug cowl that knits up with just one skein, while the large is a generous, dramatic cowl that can also be worn as a capelet.
Suggested Yarns: Tanis Fiber Arts PureWash Chunky (80% merino/20% alpaca, 125 yards/114 m per 4 oz/113 g), Small sample shown in Tiki;
