This sweet bonnet featuring a delightful daisy stitch pattern is the perfect accessory to any child’s wardrobe. The main section of the bonnet is worked flat before joining in the round for the crown shaping. The bonnet is finished with crochet ties.

The sweet details in this bonnet remind me of little daisies. This bonnet, and its matching cardigan, were my first designs since moving to Germany, and so I decided to name the pattern series ‘Margerite’ after the German name for a type of European daisy. This pattern contains instructions for four sizes, from newborn to 4/5 years.

Sizes: 0-3 months 3-12 months, 12-24 months, 2-5 years

Yarn: Superfine Merino by Cleckheaton 8ply/DK (or any 8ply/DK merino). 1 1, 2, 2 balls

Needle size: 4mm (6 US) circular needles.

Other equipment: 3.5-4.5mm crochet hook for ties. An i-cord could also be created for the ties if desired.
