Margrethe Mittens are a pair of unisex mittens with a daisy pattern in honor of Queen Margrethe II, perfect for autumn and winter use. The mittens can be knitted in three different sizes: 1 (2) 3. Note: The mittens are knitted in wool/alpaca, which causes them to felt and shrink with regular use. The mittens in the photo are knitted in Peruvian Highland (Fine) from Mumilumi in White (contrast color 1), Rust (main color), and Yellow (contrast color 2).

Sizes: 1 (2) 3
Total length (without ribbing): 19,5 (20,5) 22 cm
Width: 9 (9,5) 10 cm
Gauge (after wash and blocking): 34 sts x 33 rows in Fair Isle pattern in the round on 3 mm U.S. 2,5 needles = 10 x 10 cm
Recommended needles: 3 mm U.S. 3 circular needles (at least 60 cm if you use the magic loop technique) or 3 mm U.S. 2,5 double pointed needles (remember that needles are only a guide, make sure to maintain the correct knitting tension)
Material suggestions: 80 (90) 90 g Peruvian Highland (Fine) by Mumilumi (50 g = 210 m)
or 80 (90) 90 g Jawoll from Lang Yarns (50 g = 210 m)
or 80 (90) 90 g Arwetta Classic from Filcolana (50 g = 210 m)
Color distribution with three colors: 40 (40) 40 g for the MC (dark gray in charts), 30 (40) 40 g for CC1 and ribbing (light gray in charts), 10 (10) 10 g for CC2 (blue in charts).
Color distribution with two colors: 40 (40) 40 g for the MC dark gray in charts), 40 (50) 50 g for CC1 (light gray/light blue in charts) and ribbing.
Tip: Consider knitting with two colors instead of three, where contrast color 2 is the same color as contrast color 1 to minimize the yarn usage.
