This is a loose-fitting vest, with deep armhole openings and a delicate daisy stitch, giving a lacy texture to the vest. The vest is worked from the bottom up, in the round in one piece, seamed only at the shoulders, or as separate front and back pieces, seamed at the sides and shoulders. If worked in the round, at the underarm, the front and back are divided then worked separately back and forth instead of in the round, then joined at shoulder seams.
The length should sit just at the waistline, slightly above the hipbone, but you can work this longer if you prefer. For taller or shorter lengths, the points at which you may need to adjust measurements are given within the pattern. It is designed to be a generous fit, so that it can easily be worn over other garments. If you prefer a looser or tighter fit, then consider the garment sizing for the next size up or down.
