Marian Tunic
A split neck, sideways knitting, and a unique openwork pattern give bohemian appeal to this lacey tunic. Top is worked back and forth from stitches picked up from two central lace bands.
Finished Size 48 (51, 56, 59, 64, 67)“ bust circumference. Tunic shown measures 48”, modeled with plenty of ease.
Yarn Madelinetosh Tosh Lace (100% merino wool; 950 yd 869 m/3½ oz 100 g): chamomile, 2 (2, 3, 3, 3, 3) skeins.
Needles Bands—size 2 (2.75 mm). Body and sleeves—size 6 (4 mm): 32” circular (cir). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Stitch holders; tapestry needle; removable markers; smooth waste yarn in contrasting color (for blocking).
Gauge 24 sts and 24 rows = 4” in Openwork chart patt on larger needle; 20 sts of Diamond Lace patt = 2¼ “ wide and 49 rows = 4” on smaller needles.
