Construction notes: Marie is a long cardigan worked from the top-down. Starting from the collar and picking up sts around upper back and shoulders simultaneously, the piece is knit seamlessly following the Cocoknits Method). Marie features an interesting half-brioche stitch pattern across the chest and upper arms that is created through increases/decreases. The pattern offers two options for working the sleeve tapering, an edgy version and a softer curved version. Two pockets support the practical character of the garment, while a Tubular Ribbing Bind-off at the hem and cuffs supports the overall clean look.
Inspiration: This pattern is inspired by Marie Curie and her quote “Life is not easy for any of us. We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves.
We must believe that we are gifted for something and that this thing must be attained.”
