The pattern is only for the dioly / medallion.

Other instructions are given on how to join them up. These are only presented as a photo mock up, so you can see how it will look as a textile.
You will need to work out how much thread it will take for a large project. To do this, make up the pattern big enough for a pillow and weigh the lace. Then do the math, so you know how much thread to buy.

This pattern would produce a tablecloth that resembles one of the Spanish lace styles.
