Mariele's Cable Lace Blanket
I found the pattern for this blanket in one of my grandmother’s German stitch libraries. I adapted it a little, to create this lovely cable lace blanket pattern.
I call it Mariele’s Cable Lace Blanket, in honor of my grandmother, who was an amazing crafty lady.
The pattern comes in three different sizes:
Stroller: approx. 30 “ x 35” or 76 cm x 89 cm
Receiving: approx. 40” x 40” or 102 cm x 102 cm
Crib: approx. 45” x 60 “ or 114 cm x 152 cm
It is made with Aran weight yarn, also known as Worsted, Afghan or 10 ply, and will knit up quite quickly.
Materials: Aran weight yarn, also known as Worsted, Afghan or 10 ply (about 190 m per 100g)
Stroller Size: about 600 g
Receiving Size: about 800 g
Crib Size: about 1200 g
Amounts will vary, depending on your choice, if in doubt, get extra.
Yarn Suggestions: Cascade 220, Hayfield Bonus Aran with Wool, Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran or Malabrigo Worsted
Circular knitting needles 5.5 mm or US 9, at least 80 cm or 32 “ long
2 stitch markers
cable needle
Tension/Gauge: 18 sts and 24 rows make 10 cm or 4 “ square in stockinette stitch
