Marienlyst trousers are knitted top down in stockinette stitch with pattern. First you knit the waistline for the tying string. Then you knit an extension at the back for a good fit. Increases are worked for the gusset before the work is divided into two legs. The legs are knitted in the round with decreases on double pointed needles.
