The cardigan has a loose oversized fit and can be worn with a wide range of outfits and occasions. It’s a really versatile piece that can be worn as a jacket when its warmer or as a comfy cardigan on those chilly days. When designing this piece I envisioned it being ideal for the autumn season, but really it’s proven to be a great piece all year round.

This cardigan is an advanced beginner pattern written in US terms. You can use up to five different colors in this pattern giving the cardigan the look that suits you most.

The pattern uses the half double crochet (hdc) and the long caramel stitch (lcst). A detailed step-by-step picture instruction of the long caramel stitch is provided.
The long caramel stitch is a stitch that I designed especially for the Marigold Cardigan. It was inspired by the bleeding of one color into the next, like in a drip cake.
