The design was inspired by FDA 818 French pattern by Herbert Niebling, published in the vintage Femmes d’aujourd’hui #0818 magazine.

This semicircular lace shawl is worked top-down beginning from the center back of the neck.

The finished size of your shawl depends on yarn choice, needle size, and your individual manner of knitting. The gauge is not crucially important but will affect the finished size and yardage requirements.

The pattern includes charts and pattern instructions. All charts show only the right-side rows. On the wrong-side rows, all stitches are purled except for the edge stitches.

The pattern has been tech edited and test knitted.
