PATTERN INFORMATION
Marigold is a V-shaped shawl made of 20 flower shaped pieces which are attached to each other as you go, on the bind-off round, using a variation of centre double decrease. No sewing or crocheting is needed.
Pattern tech edited by Rachel Brown / porpoise.
Skills needed
Working in the round, increases, decreases, picking up sts, long tail and backward loop cast on.
One size
Wingspan: 140 cm/ 55 in
Depth: 36.5 cm/ 14.5 in
You can make the shawl larger or smaller by making more or fewer flower pieces.
Gauge
(measured after blocking)
-
27 sts and 38 rows = 10 cm/ 4 in, with 3.5 mm needle(s) in stockinette st
-
one flower piece is 16 cm/ 6.25 in wide, measured across the centre from the edge of a petal to the edge of the opposite petal
Gauge is not crucial in this pattern, but a difference in gauge will affect yarn amount you will need.
