Marigold Shawlette is a lovely little shawl, knit in one piece, bottom up. It is worked in a simple yet beautiful lace stitch pattern. The body of the shawlette is knit with yarn in main color, then the lace border in contrast color yarn is added by picking up stitches along the edge.

The main sample was made with fingering weight yarn, hand dyed beautifully with marigolds and walnuts by my friend Lynne ♡

This pattern includes both charted and written row-by-row instructions.

This pattern is a perfect opportunity to use that one 100g odd skein of fingering weight yarn, sitting in your stash as well as some scrap yarn, leftover from other projects. The color combinations for this project are endless ♡

Size: one size; measurements after blocking: approx. 46 cm/ 18” long and 150 cm/ 59” wide;

Gauge:   22 sts and 31 rows = 10 cm/ 4” in Stockinette Stitch on 4 mm/ US6 needles, measured flat after blocking;
Gauge is not important for this project but it will affect the size of your shawl and the yardage. Make sure you have enough yarn to complete your project.

Yarn: Approx. 400 m/ 437 yards of fingering weight yarn in Main Color (MC) and approx. 80 m/ 87  yards of fingering weight yarn in Contrast Color (CC);

Needles: 4 mm/ US6 circular needles at least 80 cm/ 32” long or needle size to obtain the gauge;

Other: two stitch markers, tapestry needle to weave in ends;

I would love to see your Marigold shawlettes ♡ Please tag your projects #marigoldshawlette and #yarnpoetryknits on social media.
