My mother, Marilyn, loved Iris and they responded by covering her flower beds with their blooms. When I saw this colorway, I was reminded of walking through those beds of flowers and the wonderful smell. The lace pattern reminded me of Victorian embelishments, which is also an homage to my mother.

This shawl is a relaxing knit with an easy to memorize repeat and is constructed assymetrically, which allows the knitter to blissfully knit until it’s time to bind off. The squishy garter body allows a meditative zen while the border is just enough to hold interest. The lace pattern wraps around and in the end there is only a few stitiches to bind off.
