This pattern is for a mushroom similar to and certainly inspired by the ubiquitous power-up mushrooms found in the Mario Bros. games.

Do you need a power-up? Doesn’t everyone? This pattern works not only for the “get bigger” mushroom in red, but also for the “get a life” mushroom in green, or indeed any of the mushrooms - just change the colors!

This is a great pattern for a crocheter who already has a good grasp on the basics. Stitches required are really just chain and single crochet. Some sewing knowledge and possibly embroidery can help, but are not required.

Gauge is not crucial in amigurumi. See pattern notes.

You will need a size G crochet hook and one ball each of red and white worsted weight yarn, along with whatever you want to make the eyes with - embroidery thread, black yarn, fabric paint, what have you.
